What is Melanin

What is “Melanin?”

What is “Melanin?”
“Melanin” comes in all shades and races. “Melanin” is a pigment created by cells in the body called melanocytes. It’s the reason for your color of hair, and your skin. So no matter your shade, we all have “Melanin” in us!

The 3 Most common types of “Melanin” are:
Eumelanin- is the most common… and it’s brownish in color.
Pheomelanin- creates a reddish-brown color and it’s the reason for freckles and red hair.
Neuomelanin- is found in the brain.

“Melanin” main purpose is to protect! However, if your “Melanin” is exposed to the sun or pollutants… it can cause sun damage, dark spots and etc. That’s why wearing proper skin products like a “Vitamin C Serum” or “SPF” is needed daily to protect your skin from free radicals, sun exposure, UVA/UVB rays.

Our “Melanin” can glow better when we’re together!
